“Many may be surprised to see Cambodian ISPs suffering in the face of what, today, are pretty modest sized DDoS attacks, reported to only total 150Gbps across multiple targets.  However, this demonstrates how the sophistication of DDoS attacks has increased over recent years, not just the maximum size possible.  Even when you have DDoS defenses in place, they may not be up to the job of defending against today’s DDoS attacks, which are, in most cases, relatively modest in volume and duration.  Only the latest DDoS protection, which inspects incoming traffic directly, can deliver the real-time automatic mitigation necessary to prevent the damaging effects of these attacks.”
