Experts with CyberSaint and Centripetal Networks offer perspective.

According to Byron Rashed, VP of Marketing, Centripetal Networks:

“Elections are prime targets for malicious activity, especially for Nation State hackers where the goal is to manipulate political campaigns and infiltrate voting systems to either disrupt the electoral system or sway a campaign. Protecting electoral boards is extremely important, we have identified two instances of crypto mining on election assets in an international election. Cybersecurity relating to political campaigns and election systems should be treated no different than any organization that needs to have a high security posture.”

George Wrenn, Founder and CEO, CyberSaint Security:

“Being proactive in your cybersecurity measures is the key to building resilience. Potential candidates and announced alike should adopt best practice security initiatives well before stepping into the limelight of a campaign, and as digital becomes the bread and butter of campaigns and voter profile data collection, securing this data as well is not optional, it’s necessary.”
