On the eve of the #CCPA’s debut, Americans express their concerns and trust with big brands’ encryption of their personal data.
A new study* from nCipher Security (general purpose hardware security module market) found that nearly one-quarter of Americans think “encryption” is the best form of security that big tech can use to protect their personal data (significantly higher than all other choices).
TRUST: 43% of Americans trust Google the most to encrypt their personal data, followed by 38% that trust Amazon, 37% Apple, 23% Facebook and 15% Instagram. And 31% said they have stopped using these big tech services due to personal data concerns.
Additionally, of the industries most trusted to encrypt data, 55% said Financial Services, 39% Healthcare, 36% Technology and 30% Government.
