Scammers are infiltrating dating apps to build fake relationships with the end goal of parting with swipers’ money. Cequence Security released an infographic this morning that reveals that in 2021:
- Cequence detected and mitigated over 750 million bot requests on popular dating apps
- The average per-victim loss could have been as high as $12,000
- Cequence protected 70 million unique accounts from account takeover attempts on a single platform
