Join Nullcon Goa for its 14th Annual Cybersecurity Conference in September

Pre-conference Hackathon Starts August 19

Goa, India – 16 August 2023 – Nullcon Goa, September 20-24, is the largest cybersecurity conference in Asia. This year researchers from around the globe will be discussing the latest cybersecurity research, everything from PLC hacking and jailbreaking the Apple HomePod to phone call interception and altering camera sunglasses’ footage.

Anyone can register for the free HackIM Capture the Flag, which starts August 19. It covers web, crypto, pwn, and reverse engineering. Winners get cash prizes, free conference tickets, and accommodation at the conference.

September conference attendees will have the opportunity to participate in talks discussing the latest security research as well as hands-on training to learn about the newest types of vulnerabilities as well as the latest defensive and offensive techniques.

“Nullcon is more about community engagements, learning something new and taking back amazing memories, it  isn’t about sales and marketing, like many other cybersecurity conferences,” said Antriksh Shah, Founder of Nullcon. “Rather, it’s a group of practitioners who spend every day in the trenches fighting cyberthreats and want to share best practices and learn from our peers.”

The conference keynote speaker is John Lambert, Corporate Vice President and Distinguished Engineer at Microsoft Security Research.

“I’m thrilled to announce Smashing the State Machine is also coming to Nullcon Goa this September,” said James Kettle, Director of Research at PortSwigger and one of the speakers. “Can’t wait to meet the Nullcon community in person.”

Other speakers include:

  • Anton Dorfman – Lead Expert at Positive Technologies
  • Linus Henze & Tihmstar – iOS Researcher/JailBreaker
  • Rushikesh Nandedkar – Senior Researcher at Google
  • Nitesh Surana – Senior Threat Researcher at Trend Micro
  • Kevin Wong – Drone & Hardware Security Expert
  • Timur Yunusov & Aleksandra – Security Researcher at Canon
  • Many other cyber researchers from around the world

Training sessions cover topics such as rapid threat model prototyping (RTMP), defending and attacking Kubernetes, practical IoT hacking, web application security, and other areas of critical importance to cybersecurity defenders.

“…would highly recommend for CISOs to attend and promote Nullcon as one of the premier conferences where good hands-on security talent is available as well as for engaged discussions and trainings on interesting topics like security vulnerability disclosure programs, SCADA security, etc.,” said Burgess Cooper, EY Senior Partner.

“…the audience was passionate and engaged, the presentations were insightful, the organization was flawless,” said Xavier Rene Corail, Senior Director, Security, at GitHub, and a former attendee. “The conference gave us the opportunity to bring security professionals and developers together and discuss ways we can make security more impactful for developers.”

About Nullcon

Nullcon was founded in 2010 after recognizing the need for the IT security community to have a forum to exchange information about zero-day vulnerabilities, latest attack vectors, and other cyber threats. It provides an opportunity for security researchers and experts from various fields to discuss information security and present innovative solutions for real-life challenges, while showcasing multiple offensive and defensive security technologies. The conference includes research-driven technical talks, prototype displays, an exhibition, training and workshops, and a career clinic.
