Hacked Law Firm Informs Clients Like Lady Gaga and Bruce Springsteen of Data Breach
Major media and entertainment law firm Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks said that after its internal data systems were hacked — and a vast trove of information on its clients was stolen.
Josh Bohls, CEO, Inkscreen, said:
“The importance of data protection and cyber defenses have become even more challenging during the COVID-19 pandemic as network boundaries dissipate due to newly formed work from home (WFH) initiatives. CIO and CISO teams should constantly evaluate new threat vectors and related defenses as employees move to remote working environments. For example, attorneys away from office technology may need to use a mobile device to scan sensitive case materials or contracts, or to capture or manage images, audio, etc., in which case secure content capture and governance should be a priority.”
